Watching The Watchmen

Just a quick personal note. This is my 100th post. Not much a milestone to many but myself, so I feel the need to give myself a pat on the back. I'm starting to hit my stride now, so stay tuned for continuous comic updates. The ever intriguing film adaptation of The Watchmen has just gotten a little more interesting as most of the final cast has been revealed. MTV Movies (via The Hollywood Reporter) has the scoop on who's playing who, and some of the names may surprise you. Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy) is playing Nite Owl, Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children) will play Rorschach (unfortunately, no Simon Pegg), Matthew Goode (Match Point) as Ozymandias, Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Princess Mononoke) will play Dr. Manhattan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey's Anatomy...ugh) will play The Comedian, and Malin Akerman (Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle) will play the Silk Specter. After his phenomenal adaptation of 300, Zack Snyder get the directing node. One can one assume that authors Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons will be on hand to make sure the material isn't bastardized.
