Favreau set to make Avengers?

DC Comics is about to break the ice when it comes to superhero team-up movies when Justice League is finally unleashed upon the masses. Sure, we've seen three incarnations of the X-Men on the big screen, but they're not really a supergroup within the Marvel Universe. When you think superhero team-ups, you think two groups: Justice League and the Avengers. We all know Justice League is in developmental hell, but what about the prospect of an Avengers movie? Jon Favreau would like you to know that he'd be on board. In an interview with MTV Movies, Favreau indicated that he'd like to direct an Avengers movie once he finishes up Iron Man. Consistency is the key here however, as he feels there should be continuity between the individual movies and the team-up in terms of actors playing the roles. “I think it’s a good idea if you use the characters established in the other franchises that then come together for an event. I don’t think they would do it like they’re doing ‘Justice League’ where it’s a whole different set of actors and a whole different take on the world." This is in line with how Marvel sees it as well, but they also want to make sure that all characters involved get their own story. This seems likely, with the Hulk and Iron Man seeing film releases later this year, Ant Man in 2009 (with the possibility of Thor as well). And of course we all know there's going to be a Captain America film in the near future, so that's all set. Throw that all together with the rumors of the same scene being filmed for The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man and you've got yourself a superhero rumor stew. href="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/01/03/iron-man-helmer-jon-favreau-wants-to-assemble-avengers-flick/" target="_blank">Favreau assembles Avengers?
