Top Cow hosts a contest, millions vote

More and more companies these days are reaching out the fans for content. I doubt its due to a dearth of writing/artistic talent in the industry, but rather a true connection with all the kids out there that eagerly head to the comic book store every Wednesday to pick up the new releases. Top Cow definitely took advantage of this knowledge, leaving it up to those same fans to decide what comics will be produced. And decide they did. The Top Cow Blog says upwards of 4.1 million people voted for two series to become full-fledged series in 2008. The winners will be announced on February 12, so those that voted can see if they're stuffing the ballot box really paid off or not.

“A promotion like this is always a bit risky because you don’t know what kind of results you’re going to get. But the fans really impressed us with their enthusiasm with Pilot Season,” said Top Cow Publisher, Filip Sablik. “Over 4 million votes is almost unbelievable and we’re even more proud to say that all those votes are legitimate, without the aid of any scripts or bots. We’re incredibly proud of our fans and all of the talented creators involved in Pilot Season.”

So to all you Top Cow fans out there, make sure to give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. And check out Top Cow February 12 to see which series were voted winners. Pilot Season gets a little love
