Wanted 2 confirmed

Hollywood really likes the "original" film that performs so well it spawns numerous sequels. Its gotten to the point now where studios are writing and creating films with the assumption that they will be successful enough to warrant at least one sequel. The latest in that trend is with Wanted. Latino Review reports that Universal Pictures has contracted producer Marc Platt for five years, part of that time he'll be busy with Wanted 2. And according to Platt, director Timur Bekmambetov and writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas are already well on their way to crafting the sequel. "The writers are at work already, and those creative discussions are taking place," said Platt, who is producing once again with Jim Lemley. It'll be interesting to see where they take the story since it didn't really end with a very good setup for the sequel. But at least we know this time around James McAvoy will get straight to the ass-kicking side of things, as opposed to spending time at the workplace. Wanted 2 confirmed
