Pixar Comics?

I really like Pixar movies. My favorite movie was The Incredibles, but since I've seen Wall-E, I think that that movie has narrowly edged out the former as my favorite Pixar movie (come on though, have any Pixar movies really been bad?). And according to ICV2, recently Boom! Studios announced news that they would be collaborating with Disney/Pixar on comics based on the movies, and I can't say I'm surprised. Starting in 2009, the new line will launch with a four-issue series featuring The Incredibles. There will also be books based on Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Cars, Toy Story and Wall-E. Writing the first works based on The Incredibles is Mark Waid (yes, that Mark Waid) and with art by Darwyn Cooke (New Frontier). No word on whether or not the comics will pick up where the movies left off, or just put the characters in entirely new adventures altogether. So stay tuned and keep checking your comic book store, as I would imagine these would be hitting in early 2009. Pixar creating comics?
