Savage Dragon #137 on second printing

Besides my love for Batman (and distaste for the Flash), I try to keep things neutral here on Omnicomic. So when the Savage Dragon officially endorsed Barack Obama for the upcoming presidential election I didn't really cover it. But Image Comics feels that we should all be paying attention to it now considering Savage Dragon #137 sold out and is on its second printing. "A lot of people have asked me whether or not Dragon would run again this election, but given its importance, I decided to have him bow out," said Savage Dragon creator Erik Larsen. "Given Dragon's history and the opinions he expressed during his own run, Obama really was the only candidate for Dragon to endorse, my own opinions aside." This is one of those few times when comics seem to transcend comics and become something more, and this story has certainly garnered lots of attention from mainstream press. I think its great that Savage Dragon creator Erik Larsen decided to use his creation as a vehicle for change. This is along the lines of MTV's Rock the Vote, just with less TRL and The Hills. So huzzah to Image Comics and Savage Dragon, and huzzah to increasing the vote. And make sure you do vote this election, as the decision is too important to not have a say. I'll step down from my soapbox now. Full press release below.
