DC's Animal Man coming back

Animal Man made a triumphant return when he hit stores yesterday (technically today because of the holiday, but you know what I'm getting at) in The Last Days of Animal Man #1. Written by Gerry Conway and featuring art by Chris Batista and Dave Meikis (Brian Bolland did the cover), the first of six issues take place in 2024 in San Diego that has long since stayed classy. The heroes are growing tired, the villains have grown nastier and Buddy's own hometown of San Diego has struggled for years to recover from a cataclysmic typhoon. Buddy Baker doesn't even know himself without his powers or family. The DC MySpace page has some interiors from the first issue, or you can check them out after the jump.
