Have you ever asked yourself what compels life without a soul? Maybe fear? Hatred? Passion? Maybe it's just the goal to be human. Or sentient. Regardless of your answer, you owe it to yourself to check out the answer postulated in this week's pick of the week, Citizen Rex #1. The book is written by Mario and Gilbert Hernandez, with Gilbert also providing the artwork. The two comic legends have united to create a bizarre, sexy view of a future where the anti-robot movement is in full effect. The movement stems from the arrest and deactivation of CTZ-RX, the world's most famous and lifelike robot twenty years ago. Such a deactivation and anti-robot movement does little to stem the black market for robot prosthetics, giving gossip columnist Sergio Bauntin tons of fodder for his work. His rumors draw the watchful eye of various entities however, including the mob and investigators known as the Truth Takers. They'll be particularly interested when he finds that CTZ-RX is out and about. Enjoy! New Arrivals: July 29, 2009
