You should already have August 28 circled (or simply a memo in iCal, Google Calendar, Outlook...whatever is your e-calendar of choice) as that's the official release date for Batman: Arkham Asylum. Things have moved along swimmingly and it looks like that release date is really, truly going to hold. But another date you should add to that same calendar of yours is August 7. Why? Demo.
That's right. The Batman: Arkham Asylum demo will hit Xbox Live and PSN this Friday, August 7. Now, the press release (after the jump) makes mention of the UK, as Eidos is British. I think it's safe to say however that the August 7 isn't UK only and is a worldwide date. So make sure you fire up your console of choice this Friday to download the demo, and then after playing it a while you can head out and see G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. It's really a win-win.

Monday 3rd August/…The consumer demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum™, published in the United Kingdom by Eidos Interactive, will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 entertainment system and Games For Windows® LIVE worldwide on August 7. The full game will be available at retail stores nationwide in the United Kingdom beginning August 28th.
The demo will be offered on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for Xbox 360 and PlayStation®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3. Fans can visit www.batmanarkhamasylum.com for details on how to download the Games For Windows LIVE version.
