Devil's Due Publishing is an up and coming publisher that you might not have heard of (until now maybe), but that shouldn't preclude them from getting their comics into your grubby, little hands via any means possible. Which includes iPhone.
Devil's Due has teadmed up with comiXology to distribute the books on the iPhone and iPod Touch. These includes
Jericho, Hack/Slash, Voltron and
Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
"We're excited that Devil's Due has chosen comiXology to be its digital comics partner," said David Steinberger, CEO of comiXology. "Fans of Jericho reach far beyond the local comic store, and that property, along with Voltron and Spartacus make great introductions to comics. They'll look great in our Guided View on the iPhone."
The app is available for $0.99, but the 30 current comics are free. So you're basically paying $0.03 a comic, which isn't too shabby at all. The devil needs his due every now and then right?
What's even better is the Guided View. This keeps the entire page of a comic intact, allowing your eyes to fully savor what you're reading. Mix in a retailer location built into the program and you're a couple of touches away from calling the store, Google mapping your way there and buying the print version of the comic. It's a crazy world we live in.
