Jesse Snider writing new Toy Story

Toy Story was Pixar's first really big foray into the genre of films they now dominate and it was reasonably successful. Fast forward nearly 15 years (holy crap that movie came out in 1995?!?!) and Boom! Studios is capitalizing on that success in comic book form. And said comic book has just received a new writer in the form of Jesse Blaze Snider starting in December with Toy Story #0. “When I first saw TOY STORY years ago, I was in love,” said Snider. “It wasn’t just the idea that every toy has a secret life, but I was fascinated with the secret lives of those toys we saw in the film. It’s always been something in the back of my mind, Woody and Buzz and even the Pizza Planet aliens waiting to come out to play again. This is a tremendous opportunity and it will not disappoint.” If you're like me you probably have no idea who Snider is. He's gained popularity via MTV's "Rock the Cradle" and is also a music host/VJ for MTV2, Fuse and AOL's Top 11 Countdown. He's worked on titles for Marvel (Marvel Comics Presents) and DC (Dead Romeo) so he has some comic pedigree. His story in Toy Story #0 features Andy getting a brand new Buzz, pitting old vs. new with Woody saving the day. Nathan Watson is on interiors and cover duty. Full press release after the jump.
