Image Comics Releasing The Walking Dead Compendium Vol. 1

Robert Kirkman is a popular, and happy, guy right about now. Not only is his work The Walking Dead in production for a run on AMC, but Image Comic is releasing the first 48 issues of the comic in a handy, dandy compendium. It's an excellent way for fans to get primed for the AMC series and Kirkman would kind of like you to read it.

“This is the perfect opportunity to catch up with THE WALKING DEAD before the AMC series debuts,” states Kirkman. “It’s a great way to get started with the series or to catch up with your favorite Walking Dead characters.”

The Walking Dead Compendium, Vol. 1 is a whopping (and I mean WHOPPING) 1088 page, black and white book that (as mentioned above) collects the first 48 issues of the series. It'll be available for $59.99 on September 1, a month before the series debuts on AMC.

Full press release after the jump.
