Defense with the BoomStick

Well, another Monday, with more zombies to kill and work that has to get done. At least today is Labor Day I believe; I figure it’s around that time of the year anyway so celebrating like it is. It’s been relatively quiet around my parts with not much since that herd we had surrounding us a few weeks back. I am thankful for that as we have a chance to rebuild and do a lot of repairs around the place and do supply runs. Let's get to the news now.

Remember all those zombie herds I was telling you about that were sieging my complex, but were also traversing across many countries and being targeted by government bombings? From what intelligence I have gathered it sounds like mass bombings have taken place over the past week around the clock. Reports coming back say they have inflicted massive damage to a lot of these herds of zombies reducing them by the tens of thousands. Granted there are still plenty of zombies left traversing the planet but every one dead is one less trying to kill you. That’s all I have for this week on the news so here’s the tip. Tip today is on home security that will let you help defend yourself from those undead hordes.

First line of defense is reinforcing that front door and to do this you have many methods. Now first off finding a place with a heavy duty door is good for you, but if not you can make a barricade that will reinforce the door. All you need to complete this is some lumber, hammer and nails; just make sure the lumber is like 4X4 real thick ones. You need to build a shelf to hold a piece of lumber that you will place in front of the door horizontally to be your first line of barricading.

Next you will do is get another lumber board and wedge it against the door way below the horizontal cross board, but will point one end at the door and the other sticking out from it. Line up where the end of this board touches the floor and nail down a big lumber piece to the floor you can wedge the board against. Doing these two methods will give you one board across the door and another pushing on the door to keep it shut. You really don’t want to have to open this door to much if you can help it as if it's kept barricade no chance zombies can get in.
