Image Comics' 27 #1 Returns in Second Printing

Your 27th birthday is often forgettable. There are no social rites of passage associated with it and it's the downside on the way to 30. In Image Comics' 27 though, the age is the year you die. If you're a rock star. Readers seem to like that concept a lot as 27 #1 has sold out its first printing and will be returning in the hallowed second print form on January 5. The four-issue series is written by Charles Soule and drawn by Renzo Podesta, with covers by W. Scott Forbes. The book comes in the larger Golden Age format. In it, the 27 Club admits only the most brilliant musicians and artists, but kills them in their 27th year. Will Garland is one such musician, unable to play because of a neurological disorder that afflicts his left hand. "The response to 27 has been amazing," exclaims Soule. "On behalf of the entire creative team, thank you to everyone who ordered the book, and thank you to everyone who has helped generate buzz for the book. It's been a blast so far, and we're just getting started!" Shadowline Publisher Jim Valentino adds, "Charles and Renzo have done brilliant work on 27, and it deserves all the praise and attention it gets!" Full press release after the jump. ROCK ON Image Comics' 27 #1 sells out at the distribution level Berkeley, CA - 3 December 2010 - Will Garland may not survive to see his 28th birthday, but he can go knowing that he's a star if the sellout of the first issue of Image Comics and Shadowline's 27 is any indication!
