Zenescope Comics Coming to PSP

I have a feeling that getting DCU Online isn't going to be Sony's only foray into acting as a purveyor of comics.  They've struck deals in the past with Marvel, IDW and DC Comics, just to name a few.  Their latest deal though will bring the magic of fairy tales to the PSP in the form of a deal with Zenescope Entertainment.

Zenescope's digital line will be priced at $1.99 an issue with certain books available for free download starting February 1.  The initial run will include works such as Grimm Fairy Tales, Neverland and The Waking.

“There’s a mainstream appeal to most of our titles and this gives us an ability to showcase those titles to an expanded audience who might not normally read comics and graphic novels.” said Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco, “I believe the digital platform continues to help increase interest in the comic book industry and working with a well-known and respected company like Playstation is very exciting for us.”

Zenescope Comics Coming to PSP

Zenescope Entertainment has announced plans to partner with Playstation Network by offering its comic book and graphic novel library for digital download through Playstation Portable (PSP). Best known for dark re-inventions of classic fairy tales and literature such as Grimm Fairy Tales and Return To Wonderland, Zenescope plans to slowly roll out all of its titles over the next several months through Playstation Network. Much of Zenescope’s digital line will be priced at $1.99 per issue with select books also being available for free download. Zenescope has been releasing digital content since 2008 and currently offers downloads through apps and websites like Comixology, Graphic.ly and Wowio. The fast-growing company will now expand its content further with the Playstation partnership.

Zenescope’s comics will become available on the PSP starting February 1st, 2011 and will initially include early issues of popular titles such as Grimm Fairy Tales, Neverland and The Waking.

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world. Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today. Zenescope's licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema's successful film franchises.
