I'm a big fan of world history. A big part of that history is the Roman Empire and its legacy of rulers, Caligula among them. I do find it odd that there hasn't been a comic about this particular ruler yet (that I'm aware of), but Avatar Press will remedy that this Wednesday.

Caligula #1 is written by David Lapham and illustrated by German Nobile (cover by Jacen Burrows) and chronicles the transition of Caligula from reasonable ruler to depraved tyrant. The title takes a new look at the ruler, a man drunk on power and prone to tales of horror. The series promises to have as much blood as an episode of Spartacus, so if that's your cup of tea then this issue may be right up your alley.

For me when I saw this listed I knew it would be my pick today: Kick-Ass 2 #2. This second issue of the sequel has Dave still donning the mask and going out into the new world he helped create. Now with more people making the jump into the superhero world life could get better for Kick-Ass with more heroes or it could get worse with more villains looking to take Kick-Ass out. Better go back and get the first issue on top of this one so you don’t miss out on it.

Enjoy!
