Defense with the BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is set in a world where zombies have taken over and people live in small spots all over the world. It was a weekly broadcast of news from around the globe and a tip to help survival, but now I have been bitten.)

I managed to accomplish a good bit over this past week. I made it in one piece to my secondary secure compound, although from the looks of it there were some squatters in it for a bit. Not really sure how long ago they cleared out of the place, but it looks like they did it with zombies on their tail judging by the dead bodies inside the perimeter wall. They all did a number on the supplies too, taking a good bit in addition to destroying some in the battle too.

The only real bit of gear I can use is what was in a sealed room they didn’t get into before the zombie attack with the most important piece being a better radio transmitter and receiver as well as some weapons with ammo. With me carrying a weapon hopefully that will make survivors not shoot first at me as zombies don’t carry guns last I checked. I don't even really need to use weapons, but you never know when they might come in handy.

Zombies still aren't bothering me or looking at me twice as they think I'm one of them, which is true in a manner of speaking. From the looks of the zombies that were milling about inside the perimeter wall they were pretty badly decomposed; these zombies must have been zombies for quite some time. A lot of the zombies I passed in my trek over to this place look about the same with a few exceptions that looked a lot fresher. Maybe after enough time the zombie bodies will keep breaking down until dying completely. It’s just a theory that I will have to monitor during my journey and I hope this will prove true as if it does survivors just have to wait them out, but for how long will it take is the big question though.

Now that I have gotten some gear for my trip I'm heading out in the morning towards New England and the government colony there. I foresee this being a one-leg trip unless some working vehicles are along the way. Man it’s gonna suck. Until next week keep surviving.
