Zenescope's Fly Sells Out

It would seem that readers are a big fan of Zenescope's series Fly as it has sold out its initial print run of 12,500 copies in less than one week. Naturally, this means the publisher is looking towards a second printing.

"We have already sold out on the distributor level and retailers are reporting sell outs as well," stated Zenescope President Joe Brusha. "We're going to look at how strong re-orders are for a second printing. If the demand is there, which we think it will be, we'll go back to print as quickly as possible."

Fly follows three teenagers who gain access to a designer drug which gives them the poewr to fly. As it's a drug, you can imagine that people start getting addicted to it and find themselves succumbing to its allure. Years later, Eddie is on the run from his past and he desperately needs to figure out a way to help his former girlfriend kick the habit before it kills them both.

Fly #2 hits stands July 13th under Diamond Previews code MAY111294. Full press release after the jump.

ZENESCOPE'S NEW SERIES "FLYING" OFF SHELVES

Comic book and graphic novel publisher, Zenescope Entertainment, has announced that the number one issue of its newest title, FLY, has sold out of its initial 12,500 copy print run in less than one week. Zenescope is considering a second printing in order to meet retailer demand. The comic book series is inspired by writer Raven Gregory's very personal experience of his and his wife's battle with drug abuse over the course of several years. The inspiration of the comic and its characters was chronicled in a recent USA Today article written by Brian Truitt.

Reviews of “Fly” have been astounding. USA Today writer Brian Truitt called it “an insightful tale that delves into the consequences of addiction and observes what happens when superpowers aren’t all that super.” Newsarama's Jeff Marsick, called Fly "Edgy and twisted” and "deliciously terrifying." And Ain’t It Cool News encouraged comic book fans to give the series a try with the quote “One dose and you’ll be hooked.”
