New Arrivals: July 6, 2011

Hope everyone out there enjoyed their Fourth of July weekend. The day celebrating our independence is also notable for the day off from work, school or whatever. It also means that the delivery of new comics is delayed by a day due to shipping delays. That's not a problem for the weekly comic reader, as we just adapt and still manage to get our books, even if they're a day late. When you're picking up books this week, one that might do well with your attention is Elric: The Balance Lost #1.

Elric: The Balance Lost #1 is written by Chris Roberson, illustrated by Francesco Biagini and featuring covers by Francesco Mattina and Benjamin Carre. AND there's an afterword by Neil Gaiman. In it, a crisis breaks out across multiple worlds with Michael Moorcock's other two most famous fantasy franchise characters, Corum of the Scarlet Robe and Dorian Hawkmoon. The workings of Fate are being tampered across the Multiverse, upsetting the Cosmic Balance. Elric is on a quest to restore The Balance and save the Multiverse from ruin! Elric, Corum and Hawkmoon are forced into action far and wide, but will they fight on the side of good or bad is the question.
