Bunny in the Moon Debuts New Work from Tara McPherson

If there's a bunny in the moon it's a safe bet that a dark horse is involved. As in, Dark Horse Comics has just announced Bunny in the Moon: The Art of Tara McPherson Volume 3. The work collects another volume of McPherson's acclaimed pop surrealism, as well as a foreword by Morgan Spurlock.

“Tara McPherson is blazing a trail between illustration and fine art that is both personal and universal, and changing the face of the art world in her wake.”—Hi-Fructose

Gods and devils. Flesh and spirit. Sacred and profane. One of the leading lights of pop surrealism, Tara McPherson has traveled the world with her work, gaining new inspirations. With a foreword by acclaimed artist Gary Baseman, Bunny in the Moon features compelling new works and sculpture informed by mythology and folklore. The resulting imagery combines the primal power at the core of ancient culture with McPherson’s contemporary explorations of love, loss, strength, vulnerability, and female empowerment.

The title won't actually be on sale until March 14, 2012, but the lovely Ms. McPherson will be at NYCC at the Dark Horse booth on Friday, October 14th, at 11 AM. Maybe if you ask real nice while getting her autograph you can convince her to release it sooner.

Full press release after the jump.
