Before comics became all about capes and tights (a trend that's waning nowadays), they were a little more off-kilter. Zany and sometimes crude, there was one comic among the many that of days past that really stood out for its originality and madness. It just so happens to be an emotion that evokes things slightly different than normal.

This week sees the release of Collectibly Mad: Deluxe Ed HC.

Previously published in 1995 by Kitchen Sink Press, Collectibly Mad: Deluxe Ed HC has been dusted off and thrown together again for a limited run of 500 copies. Not only that, but the deluxe slipcased edition is signed by EC/MAD publisher William Gaines and author Grant Geissman.

The large (10 1/4" square) book runs 320 pages and contains everything you want to know about MAD collectibles. And the book just so happens to be signed by Gaines as well, who passed shortly after signing.

The MAD tome will set you back $150 when it hits stores this week.

Enjoy!
