Scam #1 Sells Out

The upcoming Scam #1 is quite the hit in its initial limited run. So much the hit that the debut issue has sold out at the distributor level more than a week before its release date. The first printing of Scam #1 was limited to just 777 copies, and physical copies will be sold exclusively in a small number of select retailers who have chosen to support this exciting creator-owned title.

The double-sized, first installment of the five-issue miniseries marks the latest release from ComixTribe. Retailers were grouped based on how many copies of the first issue they purchased, including Hot Tables, Pit Bosses and High Rollers.

A second printing has already been greenlit and will got to print February 15 for a February 29 release date.

“I want to thank everyone who helped make my debut book a sell-out," says creator Joe Mulvey. "2012 looks to be a HUGE year for independent and creator owned comics and a huge year for ComixTribe, and I'm thrilled so many retailers and readers are getting in on the ground floor."

To promote the book, Mulvey will be doing a release party signing at the Comics Den in Queens on Friday January 27, and will follow it with a New England Comics Retailers Alliance (NECRA) store tour, which starts at Friendly Neighborhood Comics in Bellingham, MA Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 am, and continues on to Larry’s Wonderful World of Comics in Lowell, MA, at 3:00 PM.

Scam #1 follows a team of super-powered grifters on the biggest con of their lives, taking down a Vegas casino and getting revenge on a former teammate who double-crossed them. It features a story by Joe Mulvey and inks by John Ercek and Jules Rivera, colors by Andrew Crossley, letters by AndWorld Design and a cover by Mulvey and Andrew Crossley.

SCAM #1 Sells Out, Available Only at Select Shops January 25

January 17, 2012 -- New York, NY -- The first printing of SCAM #1 the debut comic book series by writer/artist Joe Mulvey, has sold out at the distributor level more than a week before its January 25th, 2012 release date.

The first printing of SCAM #1 was limited to just 777 copies, and physical copies will be sold exclusively in a small number of select retailers who have chosen to support this exciting creator-owned title. “Our store always strives to stand out among the sea of other capable retailers. A must read!" echoed Steve Falcon, of NewCastle Comics and Games in Maryland Heights, MO.

SCAM is “X-Men meets Oceans 11″ and involves a team of super-powered grifters on the biggest con of their lives...taking down a Vegas casino and getting revenge on a former teammate who double-crossed them.
