Prophecy #1 Sells Out at Dynamite

Dynamite's biggest crossover, well, ever, is apparently Prophecy #1, hitting stores in June. Here's hoping you managed to get a preorder in, as the first printing has sold out, with the second one not far behind. Dynamite is contemplating a third printing, but let them soak up the first two selling out first.

"Obviously it's great news that Prophecy #1 sold out," says Prophecy writer Ron Marz. "It's satisfying to put together a series that embraces the fun of comics, and then have readers respond to that series. But the better news is that Dynamite is going back for a second printing. We want to have copies in front of as many people as possible!"

Marz is joined by artist Walter Geovani, with covers by Paul Renaud. It takes place during 2012 and the Mayan doomsday prophecy is coming to pass, and the end of the world makes for strange allies. Vampirella, Red Sonja, Kulan Gath, Dracula, Eva, Herbert West The Reanimator, Alan Quatermain, Athena, Dorian Gray, Purgatory, Pantha and many more choose sides and clash in battles that will decide the fate of the Earth and all of mankind.

"It is with great pride that Prophecy is selling out so quickly," adds Dynamite Entertainment President and Publisher Nick Barrucci. "For issue #1 to be sold out from Diamond within 24 hours of release is a testament to the hard work that Ron (Marz), Walter (Geovanni) and everyone at Dynamite put into the launch. Readers have been asking for publishers to create self-contained events, and it is clear that Dynamite has made the right move by listening to our fan-base with our single focused ‘Prophecy' series!"

PROPHECY #1 SELL-OUT AT DYNAMITE!

SECOND (AND POSSIBLE THIRD) PRINTINGS ARE BEING MADE AVAILABLE TO SATIATE DEMAND!

June 8, 2012, Mt. Laurel, NJ - Dynamite's biggest cross-over EVER - Prophecy #1 - hits this June, and we wanted to let everyone know in advance that the second printing that we made available may sell out early next week, and we are already evaluating going back for a THIRD PRINTING! Written by Ron Marz and drawn by Walter Geovani, with covers by Paul Renaud, Prophecy is a self contained event series. Prophecy, running for seven issues, is easily Dynamite's biggest company cross-over of ALL TIME! Make sure to pick up the first issue of Prophecy in June!

Prophecy takes place during 2012, and the Mayan doomsday prophecy is coming to pass, and the end of the world makes for strange allies. Will the forces of good be able to stop the end of days? Or will an army of darkness rise?

"Obviously it's great news that Prophecy #1 sold out," says Prophecy writer Ron Marz.  "It's satisfying to put together a series that embraces the fun of comics, and then have readers respond to that series. But the better news is that Dynamite is going back for a second printing. We want to have copies in front of as many people as possible!"

In Prophecy #2, the Mayan Prophecy isn't coming, it's here. As the world falls into darkness, an army unites. There's never been a gathering of heroes like this before ... but we've never faced the end of the world before! A collection of Dynamite's greatest characters, including Red Sonja, Vampirella, Pantha, Dracula, Eva, Herbert West the Reanimator, Allan Quatermain, Athena, Dorian Gray, Purgatory and many more, must band together in a desperate attempt to prevent villainous sorcerer Kulan Gath from turning the world into ash. But when your allies include the lord of all vampires, everyone will be at one another's throats -- literally!

In Prophecy #3, the battlelines are drawn. With each passing hour, the sorcerer Kulan Gath uses the Mayan 2012 doomsday prophecy to push the world closer to destruction. But his sworn enemy Red Sonja followed him through time itself, and has now gathered a team of allies to oppose Gath and his army of the dead. Joined by Vampirella, Dracula, Pantha, Herbert West the Reanimator and many more, Sonja has sworn to stop Gath, even if the cost is her own soul.
