Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

For the longest time I have thought there cannot possibly be more survivors out there. Still though I've managed to find some alive in Canada and who are doing pretty damn well too. I have to say their location is about as well defended and positioned as mine was before it got blown to hell by bandits.

I was damn lucky I did find them as I ran into one of their scavenging parties and managed to prove I wasn’t a threat. I'd only gotten to the shore the day before and came across them in this small burg. They were scouting out a pharmacy and I cleared some zombies that were shambling up behind them after they went in. Sure a little bit of gunfire freaked them out, but killing threatening zombies helped my cause.

I'm glad to have found them too as the row across the great lake tired me out, exhausted my supplies and left me bone tired. The only thing I do have in good supply is ammo, which I've been happy to share with them to help out as they have provided me a place to rest, recharge and gather my wits. I'm still going to push forward for the islands in Lake Superior with news of survivor camps there that are holding out even better against zombies than this place is.

Not putting that on hold at all...just delaying myself here to get stronger after the past months of running from those nuclear explosions back in the northeast, radioactive zombies and shamblers crossing I think three great lakes now.

Speaking of those radioactive zombies, I'm beginning to think I understand more about them and especially those shamblers who seemed to have been more intelligent than the ones I blew up at that inn by the water. I'm not entirely sure of my theory, but knowing those radioactive zombies I'm sure it will not be long before some come this way and maybe I can flesh out my theory then.

Time to get some shooting practice in as a lot of the folks around here are rusty themselves since their ammo supply has been so low. Some of the folks around here might think they have a way to replenish it across the border and I'm going to work with them on plotting out a route to do it. Just glad for another day.
