Heavy Metal Celebrates 35 Years of Bots, Bullets and Babes

Normally, you don't really need a special occasion to host a panel at Comic-Con, but hey, if you've got one, that makes the panel all that much more awesome. Heavy Metal has a reason...35 of them to be exact.

On Friday, July 13 at 8:30 PM in Room 8 the publisher will host a star-studded panel to celebrate their 35th birthday. The panel will give fans a chance to peek behind the curtain for an incredible hour of conversation with Kevin Eastman as he and many of the iconic artists reflect on the history of ground-breaking storytelling as well as letting the audience in on plans for the future.

“We see panels as a way to give back to the fans,” explained Heavy Metal CEO Kevin Eastman. “Fans first is how I approach all shows. Many panels wind up as a product push. The goal for this event is an honest to god celebration. 35 years is a long time and we just want to laugh and tell stories and give our audience an intimate look behind the people and events that got us to this point.”

Guests at the panel include Kevin Eastman, Michael Mendheim, Dave Elliot, Lorenzo Sperlonga, Steampunk Dolls, Dave Dorman and Joe Pearson. The panel will be moderated by Bradley Hatfield, Producer at MTV Geek.

Heavy Metal San Diego Comic Con Panel Announced 

(Los Angeles, CA - July 3rd, 2012) Heavy Metal magazine announced today that on Friday July 13th at 8:30PM in room 8 they will host a star studded San Diego Comic Con panel to celebrate their 35th birthday.
