Oceanverse Launches Online Store

You're nothing if you don't have an online storefront these days. Oceanverse artist Mike Schwartz has just gone from nothing to something. Not really, but the comparison is still sort of there.

Schwartz saw his Kickstarter campaign successful enough to fund his web comic anthology Oceanverse: The Collected Edition. With that surge he also picked up a ton of new fans, prompting the launching of an online store to accomodate the continued interest in his work.

Oceanverse.com currently stocks printed and digital editions of Oceanverse: The Collected Edition, as well as the lighthearted “mini-book,” Funnybook Fish, which collects Schwartz’s take on popular comic characters as sea life. Also available are Oceanverse t-shirts, sketch cards, and original art commissions. The latter are 9” x 12” pen and ink drawings, available in color or black and white.

Oceanverse Artist Mike Schwartz Launches Online Store with Books, Sketch Cards, T-Shirts and Original Art

Detroit, Mich., July 28, 2012 – This has been a banner year for budding cartoonist, Mike Schwartz. After January’s wildly successful Kickstarter campaign that funded the printing of his web comic anthology, Oceanverse: The Collected Edition, Schwartz has launched an online store to accommodate the continued interest in his work.

The latter are 9”x12” pen and ink drawings, available in color or black and white.

Elsewhere, the glowing reviews for Oceanverse continue to mount. Battlepug creator, Mike Norton sums it up in three words: “Adventure. Humor. Fun.” Box Office Poison’s Alex Robinson calls it, “a rollicking throwback to the pulpy origins of adventure comics.” Supporters of the Kickstarter campaign are similarly impressed by the collection that resulted from their support. And now with the launch of Oceanverse.com, fans of the original web comic, or just the pulp adventure genre in general, will also have access to one of the medium’s most promising new talents.

About Oceanverse

Oceanverse is an underwater adventure comic infused with the spirit of the great comic strips of the early twentieth century.

Retired from his pulp hero lifestyle, “Gentleman Adventurer” Clayton Hemmings can’t shake the lure of expedition. With a newly assembled crew, Hemmings boards his submarine, the Red Herring, and sets out for a tour of the Oceanverse – an undersea world of wonder and danger. The team encounters forgotten ghosts, befriends bizarre creatures, explores undersea outposts, and battles sea monsters every nautical mile of the way.
