The Cape was a truly awful show on NBC that comic fans really tried to like, but just couldn't get behind. The Cape: 1969 #1 is the start of a brand new series from IDW that hopes to be a lot better.

It's written by Joe Hill and Jason Ciaramella, with art by Nelson Daniel and Zach Howard, letters by Shawn Lee and a cover by Howard and Nelson Daniel. As the year in the title indicates, it's 1969 in Vietnam where Captain Chase is shot down over enemy territory.

He and his crew are in a fight for their lives as they play a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Vietcong. We soon learn that machine guns and grenades aren’t the only scary things hiding in the jungle.
