Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

Day four. No zombie sightings.

Good on handgun and shotgun ammo. Low on rifle ammo. Medicine is getting low. Food is good, as is water with this place having its own supply.

Biggest thing though is no zombies. For awhile there I thought this place would turn out like the last one, with a constant stream of zombies attacking and eventually overrunning it. Me and the other survivors here have been patrolling the fences looking for any weak spots. It feels good to say that there aren’t any that we can see.

On top of that out of the group we have here there have been no casualties. A few close calls, but all the survivors that were in that group from the week before are all still alive and are working out really well. I have to say it’s been nice having the company after so many weeks of doing this fight on my own.

Considering the luck that’s going for us we figure to stick around here as long as we can. Gotta take advantage of this break and work on repairing gear and making new weapons with all the stuff around here. Being able to actually sleep for more than two hours at a time and with other survivors around makes sharing the load a hell of a lot easier.

Time to go on a patrol. Even though there have been no zombie sightings we have to stay vigilant.
