The Art of Todd McFarlane Sells Out

Fans know when they've got something intriguing on their hands. Creators know too. In both cases, the awesome item sells out fairly quickly. Todd McFarlane has spent years doing awesome in comic books, so it only makes sense that The Art of Todd McFarlane has sold out at the distribution level. That's 5,000 copies gone.

The book spans more than 30 years of McFarlane's career, following from his start at DC and Marvel to the founding of Image Comics. The book features hundreds of personal anecdotes, art from every stage of his career and reproductions of his original black and white Spawn art, clocking in at a whopping 400 pages.

The book hits stores November 21 for $64.99. To satisfy high demand, a paperback edition of the book will be published in March 2013. Full press release below.

The oversized, hardcover art book has sold out at the distribution level of all copies of its first print run, which was limited to 5,000 copies, 700 of which were signed-and-numbered editions.
