Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)

Year 5. Week 18.

Finally, we're here. After all these months of traveling, that--at times--has felt like years of traveling. We’ve found that military vehicle depot where all manner of old military hardware was stored before the world went to hell and there's still plenty left here we can use. On top of that we've met up with some other survivors who call this depot home.

Just glad they aren’t the kill you on sight and take all your gear kind of survivors.

All of them are actually pretty sensible and understand what we've got going on and are especially onboard with our plan to head back to Carson City. After telling them about the amount of zombies amassing there it has them worried that their safe place will not survive if the zombies head their way. Nothing like the fear of being eaten alive that gets folks to see your way of thinking.

With our group of four and this group here of about fifteen we have a nice large group to organize and do some damage. Maybe we can lure those zombies out of Carson City to figure out why so many are migrating there. At the very least we can wreak massive amounts of carnage on as many zombies as we can. For some of these vehicles though we need to find an Army base that has ordinance to put in these bad boys. The tanks here are a little on the old side from the first Gulf War, but still running strong with plenty of diesel laying around to keep them going too.

One of the people here is telling us there's are Army, Air Force and National Guard bases located not too far from our current location. Over this upcoming week we have to hit up any or all of these places to see what we can find to get us the ammo we need. On top of that we have to see if we can overhaul a few more of these vehicles to get them up and running; more the better. In our current location the defenses here can hold off a good size zombie group that could come our way, but no need to waste too much time waiting for when a critical mass of zombies do come here.

Nice to rest some and focus on a goal beyond moving from place to place towards one final place. Now we have to focus on getting all the prep done and taking the fight to the zombies. In a week's time, hopefully we'll have all we need so in the new year we can take the fight to Carson City and those bastard zombies. Probably wont be able to clear them all out, but we're gonna take as many out as we can.
