Prince Gets Tribute Comic

There was a time when film Batman wasn't so brooding. He lived in a happier Gotham, filled with a Joker outfitted in a vibrant, purple suit and hat with a grand smile on his face. Vicki Vale was the object of Michael Keaton's affection and Prince--yes Prince--scored the entire film. It wasn't his only claim to fame, but ended up being one of many in a career that prompted Bluewater Productions to release a comic book about his life in Fame Prince, written by Michael L. Frizell and illustrated by Ernesto Lovera.

"Writing Fame: Prince was like reliving my teenage years. For me, the music scene wasn’t defined by Michael Jackson, despite his success with Thriller. The 80’s, and music in general for me, were defined by Prince. He takes chances in his music, doesn’t sell out as an artist in order to make money, and still ends up on top. To this day, his music speaks to me. I hope I was able to bring some of his power to the comic page through my script.” says Frizell.

Prince Rogers Nelson, a musician from Minneapolis, started a musical revolution with the hits “1999,” “Little Red Corvette,” “When Doves Cry,” “Purple Rain,” “Batdance” and more, challenging even the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson, for chart supremacy during the 1980’s. The book chronicles his meteoric rise to dominance in the pop/funk music scene. It's available for download on iTunes, Kindle, Nook, ComiXology, DriveThru Comics, Google Play, My Digital Comics, OverDrive, Iverse, Wowio, Kobo & wherever eBooks are sold.
