Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)

Year 5. Week 21.

Bit of good news to end the week, which is always a good way to do so. We managed to get this location reinforced to the point that the only thing getting in here is every zombie at Carson City pushing against these walls. Also the groups from the National Guard depots found ammo for the tanks. Now we have those bad boys up and running with ammo to shoot: zombies are going to be in for some destruction.

With walls, trenches and tanks sitting elevated so they can fire out over the wall, it's gonna be a slugfest if something comes this way. Since we have ammo for the tanks as well as more gear for the folks going on this mission, now we have to wait for just one more part to get here. The group that's coming from Colorado is going to link up here before we all move towards Carson City. When we get closer to the city the folks from the mountain ski resort outpost are going to fly down to meet up to get some aerial recon going on to let us know what to expect.

On top of that they are going to pick up some ordinance to drop on those dead bastards' heads just to help thin their ranks before we go to town on them, blasting away with all the artillery we have. Bringing down casinos and skyscrapers is the goal of this excursion. Causing as much destruction and damage to the growing zombie numbers there has to be done as the existence of this large a group is detrimental to all survivors still out here. I don’t hold the illusion that we can take them all out, but the more permanently dead the better.

The way it sounds the group from Colorado will be here in about a week and half, which should give us more time to get all the vehicles we have even more finely tuned and scavenge for more supplies as we are going to need them with the more folks coming this way. Maybe figure out new methods of killing zombies while we're at it; think we'll try to get close to Carson City and set the battleground conditions to what we want by planting bombs and traps out in the desert between us and the city. That way we can lure them in to where we want to fight.

We know there are a ton of zombies in that city, but it’s that unknown part has me worried. It’s been a year or two since I last saw any of those radioactive zombies that seem to have a bit of intelligence to them. Could they be drawing all the regular zombies there? If that's the case what purpose beyond having one big disposable army that they can just throw zombie after zombie at something until they're dead? That has me worried if we can put a plan in motion to attack them, could they put a plan in effect to counterattack us?

Worries, worries. Gotta figure some sort of trick.
