Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)

Year 5. Week 22.

The day of reckoning is getting closer. All of our forces have met up and have started the journey down towards Carson City. The rally and fallback points is a place called Virginia City that's a little northeast of Carson City; it has only one road coming in from Carson City and big mountains on the side. This also affords only one way in for the zombies to come at us and allowing us to put people up high to keep an eye on it all.

Spent the week laying out traps and getting defenses in place for when we fall back through this place. When we go to Carson City there's no way we're going to kill all the zombies there, as from last check there were just way too many. The plan is to cause a ton of damage and destruction to the amount there and fall back through this town leading the zombies this way. We'll make sure to have plenty of surprises in store for when they come this way to knock down their numbers even more as the more we kill the better all survivors will be.

Plan after that is to keep falling back, hit the major interstate 580 and either loop back down towards Carson City to hit them again or fall back towards Reno. Once that zombie horde gets moving it's going to be a huge mass of destruction wherever it heads. Maybe if we can draw out the zombies we can get the chopper that’s part of this plan do a close flyby and take a look at what's going on in there. With that many zombies all grouped together something big has to be going down and someone must be running the show.

I think we're all ready around here. We all know that not everybody will make it back, but when you're fighting zombies you can never plan for everything. With these tanks though, the ammo, our plan and the lack of worrying about collateral damage to other survivors we just might do the task we set out to do. After this goes down I have no clue what we're going to do next. Every day you kind of just keep fighting and keep surviving to be able to see that next sunrise.

Depending on how this battle goes and what we find is going on in Carson City will probably dictate what we do next. It’s been a long time since I could say I was optimistic and in what we got going on around here I am quite optimistic. Now it all boils down to seeing how this next week goes down for us all.

Man prep work and logistics can take a lot out of you...I'm beat. A few more days and we head out and get this battle started. Here’s to it going in our favor.
