Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)

Year 5. Week 30.

The lines have been drawn and the battle has begun. The zombie horde hit us yesterday morning and ever since it's been nonstop fighting between the two sides. So far there have been no breaches in our walls, but it's only a matter of time before one does occur. There are just too many zombies for us to kill; until that breach we are just going to keep killing as many as we can. Even all the traps and pits we built around us only slowed down a tiny fraction of the zombie horde.

Over the next few hours it will be determined how long we're going to hold out. All of us who stayed haven't gotten any sleep, barely eaten or drank--mostly just enough to keep us in the fight. The government forces did get us some adrenaline shots to use before all this went down and they're going to come in handy in an hour or two. It will definitely give us a boost, but we can't keep this fight up forever without rest. We've been receiving air support with constant bombings against the zombies that is certainly thinning the horde, as well as the few mortar guns we have.

The longer we keep these zombie forces occupied here the better chances we have of attacking Carson City. That's our goal to take out the zombies there; especially the smarter, faster radioactive zombies who seem to be running things. With those smart bastards around there is no telling what the plan is. Hell they could be throwing this large horde at us to keep us pinned down while they plot something to screw our world up. With night slowly approaching our plan is to cause as much carnage as we can first, then get the helicopters warmed up and running for us to make our getaway.

Before we do that we aim to arm the explosives we placed all around the structures on a timed delay. After that, set the charges to blow open the main gate and haul ass back to the helicopters. Taking off at the same time we blow open the gates, letting the zombie horde in. We figure the more that come swarming in the better and we'll keep near the ground in the helicopters to keep luring them in, until finally taking off and watching the explosions go off as we head south for Carson City.

When all this goes down it sets a make or break it moment for us all. The new war has begun.
