Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living in this zombie world.)

Year 6. Week 6.

For as much as can go right, there's a lot that can go wrong.

These past few weeks, plenty has gone right and we had the momentum on our side against the zombies. Getting this place in Kansas City up and running; finding plenty of great supplies and equipment that will come in handy and make this place one hell of a fortress. On top of that we've had numerous zombie battles around here and we've won every single one of them.

Unfortunately, the convoy we were expecting from the northwest hasn't gotten here. It's been overdue for a couple days and we thought nothing of it. Come to find out the team we sent to meet up with a team from Salt Lake City found the convoy remains. There were no bodies left as they must have been turned into zombies, gotten up and left with the ones that attacked them. The rendezvous team managed to gather up some of the abandoned gear that was salvageable, but a good bit of it was destroyed in the ensuing fight.
Instead of setting up the new outpost, both teams came back here to Kansas City to regroup and figure out the next move. This setback does let us know there are more zombies in the area than we previously thought. We gotta find this zombie horde and take care of it. We need more intel about it though as that convoy was pretty well armed and still met a horrible end. So either the zombie group that took it out was just so large and overwhelming or there were radioactive zombies leading that pack. If that's, the case we'll have to play this smart in how we track down the zombie pack.

This sort of operation is gonna take careful planning and require some more fighters around here when the fight does go down. No matter what we do from today until the end there's going to be another fight and this one is going to be brutal if radioactive zombies are operating in this area. The more of those zombies we kill the better and it'll be bloody when that fight goes down. It's gonna be busy around here with the prep work and training for when we go to battle. There are a lot more new people around here that will have to learn how to fight as a unit if we are going to win with minimal losses.

Fighting continues on.
