Pirate Eye Returns in January

Despite the almost continuous appeal of zombies and vampires, pirates still hold a soft spot in the heart of fans. Their popularity probably peaked with the Pirates of the Caribbean films, but since then they've been a little out of the limelight. Action Lab has a light they're ready to shine on a few pirates in Pirate Eye, the first issue of which is slated to hit stores in January. The four issue mini-series starts with Pirate Eye: Exiled from Exile and brings back Carl Yonder for a variant cover limited to 1,500 copies and the writing talents of Josiah Grahn.

Combining elements of pirates and noir, Pirate Eye is the story of Smitty, an ex-pirate turned detective. Banished from the sea, he is forced to take up residence in a port, relying on his brigand-honed skills as a ‘finder’ to make a living-until an old enemy exposes a secret that forces Smitty to flee for his life. With a price on his head on land and at sea, Smitty will have to survive long enough to find out what went wrong, how to make it right, and who is responsible.

Pirate Eye returns to stores as a four issue monthly tale starting in January, building upon everything from the first four one-shot Pirate Eye stories. Whether you are a new Pirate Eye fan or have been following the book all along, this is the perfect jumping on point for pirate, detective or comic fans. Full press release below.

Whether you are a new Pirate Eye fan or have been following the book all along, this is the perfect jumping on point for pirate, detective or comic fans.

“As if they possessed their own story-telling treasure map, Grahn and Yonder have stumbled onto a gold mine of possibilities with Pirate Eye.  But rather than horde the treasure themselves, they’ve decided to share it with all of us (PositvelyNerdy.com).”

“The story and art, work very well together and support each other to produce a great story. After seeing the preview I can’t say that I was shocked by how good it turned out, but I never expected this to be this damn good.(ComicBastards.com)”
