Vanderbilt writing Spider-Man 4

Spider-Man 3 just hit DVD (and Blu-ray, which apparently looks fabulous), and Sony is in the process of setting up production on the fourth. No deals are in place to bring any of the big three (Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Sam Raimi) back to the franchise as yet , but a studio can dream can't they? The Hollywood Reporter reports that James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) has been tapped to write the script for the fourth film incarnation of the wallcrawler. Vanderbilt definitely has some Marvel credibility, as he's working on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so we know he can adapt comics. Sony has opted to keep the details of the script scant (and why wouldn't they), but they've made it quite clear that they're sticking with only two villains in the movie, as opposed to the three that were in the last film.
