Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is seeing its release date move closer and closer. To get you prepped for the film and help you identify which characters are in the movie not named Optimus Prime, Brandon and Tedd will be bringing you Autobot and Decepticon profiles each week up to the film's release. Expect one Autobot and one Decepticon each week. And the good thing about these profiles is that they will be Baysplosion free.
Name: Ironhide

Transformed Vehicle: Ironhide has been many different vehicles over the years. In 1984he was sort of a minivan but was not considered a "true" Transformer as they designed him to have a human driver control him. More recent incarnations of him have seen Ironhide as a Hummer, Ford pickup truck, and for the new movie coming out this year Michael Bay has envisioned him as a GMC Topkick truck.
General Description: Ironhide is one of Optimus Prime’s oldest friends and the Autobots weapon specialist. He's probably had enough replacement parts to build a small army, but Ironhide doggedly refuses to roll over and die for anyone. He'll fight to the bitter end and take down more than his fair share of Decepticons in the process.
Ironhide doesn't always see "optic to optic" (get it?) with Prime, despite their friendship. He's perhaps the more practical of the two, and more than a little trigger happy, so he can be more willing to push the Autobot code to the limit if he thinks it will get the job done faster. He has more guns than a small third-world country, and he may or may not have blown up a planet with said guns.
During the war on Cybertron against the Decepticons, Ironhide was given the task of training new Autobots, which usually consisted of missions to rescue a captured comrade. Also, because of his toughness and rough demeanor Ironhide has become resistant to psychic interrogation techniques. His weapons include laser cannons mounted on each forearm with missile launchers connected around the outside of the right forearm laser cannon.
Ironhide has appeared in numerous different media outlets from the TV series to IDW Publishing comics to Titan magazines and many more. He is a dedicated fighter and lifelong Autobot and will stop a nothing to attain victory using all the weapons in his arsenal.
