Image United preview issue at Comic-Con

The upcoming Image United is a big huge massive deal. If you're relatively new to comics then you probably don't really know what the deal is. But those comic book fans that are a little grayer in the beard know that the original Image Comics were a massive powerhouse. Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri and Jim Valentino were all with the publisher, and now all have moved onto other things. Their greatness as a publisher can't be questioned, and we're that much closer to their reunion. The reunion is so big that even New York Times is reporting on the reunion. And they're excited. "IMAGE UNITED is akin to a Beatles reunion," The New York Times wrote. "This six-issue comic-book series, which will be previewed at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Wednesday, brings together six of the seven founders of Image Comics— a group of prominent illustrators who defected from Marvel in 1992 to start their own publishing company— as well as some of the most successful characters they have created or developed there.” Wait, what? A preview? At Comic-Con? The Image United Preview contains the fully colored (and lettered) first half of Image United #1, and features art from all the big boys. The book will be available on Preview Night at Comic-Con, however on Saturday, July 25 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM all six creators will be at one place at the same time to sign said preview issue. If you see a massive line around that time, then you know that the signing is definitely taking place at the Image Comics booth (Booth #2729). There will also be a panel around the comic book on Friday, July 25 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM in room 5AB, aptly named the Image Comics Show. If you can hit the panel then that means that you'll probably pick up the issue, which is good because it's only available at Comic-Con (or eBay at some exorbitant price). Full press release below.
