If I were coming up with a comic book adaptation of
God of War III I, like Wildstorm, would tap writer Marv Wolfman to write the series. The man responsible for Blade knows a little something about supernatural bloodshed, and when paired with Andrea Sorrentino (cover by Andy Park) you can bet that
God of War #1 will be chock full of blood, violence and Kratos kicking deity ass.
The six-issue miniseries will look into the story behind Kratos. Everything from his Spartan childhood to his life's defining battles/tragedies to his distaste for the gods on high. The comic is obviously for the more mature readers out there and the first issue hits stores at the end of the month on March 31. Check out some interiors after the jump. Oh, and according to Wolfman's
Twitter feed it's wholly possible that issue five will feature Kratos biting off the head of a roc. Color me intrigued.
