Baltimore Comic-Con Adds More Talent

Baltimore Comic-Con is getting bigger. Slowly but surely the east coast is becoming just as important as the west when it comes to comic conventions. This year's will be no exception, being able to brag about four brand new guests added to the show: Nick Spencer, Jamal Igle, J.G. Jones and Cliff Chiang.

Spencer is best known for his deal with Marvel Comics and, most recently (and notably) Morning Glories. Igle has just wrapped up a 22-issue run on Supergirl and has moved onto doing art for Zatanna. Jones has done covers for Wanted, 52 and Final Crisis and has taken over writing duties for Doc Savage. Chiang has worked with Neil Young on Greendale for DC's Vertigo imprint and has previously worked on Batman, Green Arrow, Black Canary and Wonder Woman.

"Baltimore Comic-Con has quickly become one of my favorite shows to attend," said Igle. "The fans are fantastic and the show crew really goes out of their way to create a friendly, family-oriented, fun and accessible convention."

"We're very excited to be announcing new guests for this year's show," said Marc Nathan, promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. "These creators are among the hottest talent working in comics today and each one of them adds a diversity of style to our growing guest list."

Spencer, Igle, Jones, and Chiang join the list of confirmed guests including: Jason Aaron (Scalped, PunisherMAX); Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead); Frank Cho (Jungle Girl, Hulk); David Finch (Brightest Day, Batman: The Dark Knight); Ron Frenz (Spider-Girl); Mike Grell (Action Comics, The Pilgrim); Barry Kitson (Secret Invasion, Amazing Spider-Man); David Petersen (Mouse Guard); Brandon Peterson (Ultimate Vision, Strange); and Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo).

This year's Baltimore Comic-Con will be held August 20-21, 2011. Convention hours are Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. The ceremony and banquet for the Harvey Awards will be held Saturday night, August 21st.
