Witch Doctor #0 Debuting in The Walking Dead #85

Leave it to Robert Kirkman to combine both witch doctors and zombies and have people be all over it. Witch Doctor #0 will debut in The Walking Dead #85 as a special preview flip insert when the issue hits stores May 25. Not only that, but a limited number of copies will include a special edition cover from Witch Doctor illustrator Lukas Ketner.

Robert Kirkman is excited to share this engaging first look; “Witch Doctor #0 is an updated version of the very first Witch Doctor story that caught my eye in the beginning. I wanted to present this wholly original story that stands alone, and won't be contained in the mini-series in a way that will make a splash and catch readers imagination the same way it caught mine. So, we're doing a flip-book with Walking Dead 85, free of charge.”

Witch Doctor is a medical horror comic from Brandon Seifert and Ketner. It's been described as Sherlock Holmes meets Fringe, and features Dr. Vincent Morrow, “a physician who fights outbreaks of the supernatural, trying to find a vaccine for the apocalypse,” according to writer Seifert.

The series also has the distinction of being the first Skybound Original, Kirkman's new Image Comics imprint. Full press release after the jump.

Witch Doctor #0, the debut original comic published by Robert Kirkman’s SKYBOUND, will preview as a flip insert on May 25, 2011 within The Walking Dead Issue #85. The eerie series is the first SKYBOUND Original to be released on the Kirkman’s Image Comics imprint, and he is looking forward to continuing the hunt for more new talent. SKYBOUND‘s focus will be on cutting-edge material that exists outside the typical comic realm.
