(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)
Year 5. Week 32.
Carson City is a city under siege. This time though, survivors are the ones doing the destruction while the zombies are being obliterated. We have been battling on the streets of Carson City for about two days now, pressing any and all advantages available to us. So far we're winning.
With constant bombing strikes on any mass of zombies and precise artillery strikes hitting in front of our advancements these zombies don’t know what's hitting them. Fighting is going on all over the city as our forces keep pushing through from one side to the other. We've encountered some of the radioactive zombies that tend to give us the most troubled fights and casualties. Even then we continue to push, not wanting to lose this battle.
Wherever the fighting is the worse lets us know a radioactive zombie is around as they are able to direct the zombies a lot more efficiently. When those sorts of fights occur, we go at them even harder until we find the controlling zombie and make sure to take them out. The only way we're going to win this one is if the zombies stay unorganized and focused only on themselves and not fighting as units. We keep pressing, keep pushing our vehicles and fighters forward until there isn’t a zombie left in the city.
As the day moves on we've received reinforcements from the outpost in Colorado as well as some government troops too. These additional forces have allowed us to rest up in the areas that have been cleared out and reinforced. We're creating safe zones for the prisoners that we've come across as we push through the city. The way this fight has been going it looks like it will be over in a few days, if not sooner.
All we can do is keep fighting and staying alive as we do it. Hopefully our run of few casualties continues throughout the rest of this fight. Every survivor is going to play a role in who wins from now on and you can no longer hide to hope you survive. You have to step in and fight to survive.
