Optimus Chocolate
You have to wonder where the marketing folks for Transformers: The Movie are going to be after this one. Andrew Green (FloatingCat) and his wife Jessica (Random Mews)decided to take it upon himself to relive childhood, and make an Optimus Prime cake. But not a sheet cake. Or a round cake. But an actual, semi, Optimus Prime cake.
The ingredients:
12 8x8 white cakes
5 lbs white fondant (the fancy icing used on wedding cakes)
6 cans of color spray
3 batches of buttercream
2 vials of silver dust, mixed with vodka
2 long days
The end result? An edible Optimus Prime. Now if only there were a chocolate or caramel center to represent the Matrix.
