Comics and Emmys

If you're into award shows, you know there are a couple annual shows that are big. The Oscars obviously, Grammys (which have kind of become a farce), the Tonys (which has the theater/broadway following) and the Emmys, which rewards excellence in television programming. Well, a quick perusal of the nominee list shows that the Emmys respect the comics and comic related. Receiving a nomination for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming less than one hour) is everyone's favorite episode of South Park, "Make Love, Not Warcraft." Its up against episode of Avatar, Robot Chicken, SpongeBob SquarePants and The Simpsons. Also up for an award is Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms on Starz. Hellboy is nominated for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming one hour or more). Its competing against Goodwilt Hunting (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends), Secrets of the Deep and Where's Lazio (Camp Lazio). Be sure to tune in to see if Hellboy or the kids from South Park can take home the gold. And if you can't tell by the picture, this writer is pulling for Jack Bauer to take home another Emmy (even though this season lost a few steps). Emmy noms coms
