Ledger killing as Joker

It takes a lot to build a reputation as a great actor. You could win an Oscar, take a really compelling role that no one thinks you would take, or simply have another great actor recommend you to your peers and press. Michael Caine is probably three for three in terms of being a great actor, so when he complements Heath Ledger on his role as Joker, well, you get even more goosebumps for The Dark Knight. Batman-on-film.com reports that Caine told The Melbourne Herald Sun and The Mercury that he feels that Ledger's portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime tops that of the man himself, Jack Nicholson. There is a slight spoiler in Caine's words. Nothing too major, but it does spoil a very (could be major) scene in the movie. "The worry going in was The Joker. Jack Nicholson was the greatest Joker so, you know, how do you top that? Well, Heath Ledger's done it and he's extraordinary. He's gone in a completely different direction to Jack. Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath is like a really scary psychopath. I did one scene with him and he was ready to go and had to come up in a lift and raid our place. I didn't see him for rehearsal and when he came out of the lift he was so incredible I forgot my lines. He frightened the life out of me. I'd never met him before. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture." I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I cannot WAIT to see this movie. Ledger killing as Joker
