When you hear the words "period piece" sometimes you get a little nervous. If the filmmakers try to do a period piece but end up throwing in modern niceties, then it kind of loses that period charm. And a movie that has to be a period piece to maintain any credibility at all is the upcoming Captain America movie, due to hit theaters in 2011.
According to an interview IESB conducted with Kevin Feige of Marvel, Captain America will be a period piece, will remain very true to the source material and will not involve Matthew McConaughey. They plan to stay extremely true to the source material, and one can only hope that someone is brought in who really does respect the character to bring him to life on the big screen.
