OK. I'm not trying to shill for Apple or anything (although I do love my MacBook I have to admit), but Apple kicks some serious ass. What would prompt me to approve of their ass-kicking talent? The fact that Dark Horse publishes all of their comics on Macs. Yep. And Apple has a nice article up discussing the whole process. Its actually a great article to read if you want to gain more insight into how comics are really published. Self-publishing is getting easier and easier as technology advances and while the creation is getting relatively easier it is still a tough world to break into. Dark Horse has been using Macs for nearly 20 years, and have realized almost limitless potential with them. “For people who had no experience with computers, Macs were just easier to learn and use,” says founder and President Mike Richardson. “And once we had the Macs, we began exploring other ways we could use them.” In addition to using the Macs, the Dark Horse team relies heavily on Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat Professional for comics creation.
