RIP Bernie Mac: October 5, 1957 to August 9, 2008

I want to take a moment to mention the untimely passing of Bernie Mac over the weekend. Mac lost a long bout with pneumonia on Saturday at the age of 50. Mac really began to become a household name after blowing up on the Kings of Comedy tour, giving him his own Fox show (The Bernie Mac Show) and roles in movie after movie. One of his more recent roles was that of Bobby Bolivia in Transformers, the slick talking car salesman that was one of the catalysts for the film's story by selling Bumblebee to Sam Witwicky. Services are scheduled for 12 PM Saturday (August 16) in the 10,000-seat House of Hope. Donations in Mac's honor may be sent to the Bernie Mac Foundations for Sarcoidosis (addresses below). House of Hope 752 E. 114th St. Chicago, IL Bernie Mac Foundation for Sarcoidosis 40 E. 9th St., Suite 601 Chicago, IL 60605 Condolences to the Mac family. The world is certainly a less funny place now that he's passed.
