Mark Millar on a Superman trilogy

Honestly, at this point I would love to get a film that isn't part of a trilogy. Of course, if the trilogy is good I don't mind, but more and more movies are being made with the idea that two more will be made immediately afterwards. Mark Millar has floated a script to Warner Brothers and DC, a mystery director is attached and he'd like to start filming next summer. And he wants it to be epic, akin to the Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. "I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. One to be released each year." Millar said. This is an interesting timeline. Assuming filming starts next year for all three movies, they would most likely be released in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Now, 2012 would be about the time we could expect the third (and presumably final) Christopher Nolan Batman film. What if the third in each film was a Batman/Superman megalith? Extremely wishful thinking I know, but hey, I can speculate as much as the next guy right? The full Millar interview with G4 is below, so take a gander if you're so inclined. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this potential trilogy in the near future.
